Printer Preview
Reviewers can preview what a marked-up plan set will look like before creating the deliverable for the applicant by using the Printer Preview option in the Review page Header.
The preview process works just like the printer process to create deliverables, meaning it:
Takes the latest version of each PDF page
Packages all pages together into a single complete PDF, based on the page order set in the SHEET NUMBERS tab
Adds all selected markups to the PDF (based on your choices, see below)
Using Printer Preview ('Printer')
From the Review page Header, click the Printer Preview button ( ) to create a PDF preview of the current marked-up document.
This preview will display any markups that the applicant is expected to see on their deliverable, but will exclude closed comments (unless also selected) and measurement markups.
To generate a preview:
Click the Printer Preview button on the Header.
In the pop-up window (“Print to PDF Preview”), review which markups are checked by default.
By default, Sketches, Stamps, Comments (open) are selected, as is the option to Save (Markups) Before Printing the preview file.
Check any additional boxes for markups which you want to include in the preview file (this will not add them to the deliverable).
Uncheck any boxes for markups which you do not want to include in the preview.
Click Print at the bottom of the window to create the preview.
Use the scrollbar to view all the pages in the pdf.
If you would like to download the file to your desktop (for reference), click DOWNLOAD.
To update the preview content, make changes to your selections at the top then click the RE-PRINT button. A new preview is created based on your new selections.
If you are done with the preview, click the X at the top right or click CANCEL to close the window and return to the plans.
The print process may take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the size of the PDF. When the printing completes the Preview window will display the file with the selected markups.
If the Preview window is blank after you try to generate a PDF, check that your browser has a PDF viewer or viewer plugin installed and that it is turned on. Turn it on if needed and restart the Printer Preview process.
