How to Clear EPR Cache
Users may need to clear their cache in order to view certain kinds of updates or changes to EPR successfully. Below are two different method for clearing this cache depending on the scenario.
Scenario 1: User Cannot View Plans Page(s) on Review Screen
If pages for a rendered plan set appeared blank or blurry or otherwise didn’t render for a user, staff can try to re-render the plans. After the re-render, the user(s) who could not see the pages will need to clear the cache for this document.
Method 1: Clear EPR Review Page Cache using Disk Space
While on the Review page screen, click the Navigation Menu icon ( ) at top left corner to expand the dropdown menu.
Click on Disk Space from the menu and a window called “Disk Space” pops up. This window lists document images cached for the user.
Click the CLEAR ALL button on the top right of the window to clear the old image data.
Refresh your page.
If the re-render attempt resolved the issue, the user should now see the pages as expected. If the issue is still not resolved, contact e-PlanSoft Support as their may be an additional issue.
Scenario 2: User Cannot View a List, Group, Permission or Other Configuration Change in EPR
If configurations such as Groups, Statuses, other list items, or permissions have changed and a user cannot see the expected changes, they may need to clear their cache for the EPR application as a whole in order to view the changes.
Note these instructions apply for the Chrome browser.
Method 2: Clearing the Chrome browser application cache
Log into EPR.
Load the Chrome Inspect panel using one of these methods:
If your keyboard has a dedicated F12 key, click it.
If your keyboard has an Fn key and an F12 key, hold the Fn key down then click F12.
Or, right-click somewhere on the webpage and in the window that pops up, select “Inspect” as shown below:
The Chrome Inspect panel should now be open. At the top of the panel, click on the tab for Application.
Under Application, select “Storage” as shown.
Click the “Clear site data” button to clear the browser cache for the EPR application. Cache stored for other websites will not be affected.
Close the panel by clicking on the small 'x' at the upper right and reload the page.
Log back into EPR (this will be required if you successfully cleared your EPR application cache) and you are all set!
If after performing these steps you are still unable to view the expected data, or if you are still receiving unexpected permissions errors, contact the EPR Service Desk by submitting a ticket.
