How to clear your browser's cache

This article describes how to clear your browser's cache files for Chrome, IE11 and Firefox.

For information about your web browser's cache, cookies, and history, see the following Wikipedia pages:


Chrome

  1. In the browser bar, enter: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
  2. At the top of the "Clear browsing data" window, click Basic.
  3. Check on the box for 'Cached images and files'.
  4. Click CLEAR DATA.
  5. Exit/quit all Chrome browser windows and re-open the browser.



Firefox

  1. From the History menu, select Clear Recent History.
    1. If the Firefox menu bar is hidden, press Alt to make it visible.


2. In the Clear All History form, select the 'Cache' checkbox.

3. Click Clear Now.

4. Exit/quit all Firefox browser windows and re-open the browser.



Internet Explorer 11

  1. Select Tools > Delete browsing history or press: Ctrl-Shift-Del
    1. If the menu bar is hidden, press Alt to make it visible.
  2. Deselect Preserve Favorites website data, and select:
    • Temporary Internet files or Temporary Internet files and website files.
  3. Click Delete.
    1. You will see a confirmation at the bottom of the window when the process is complete.
  4. Exit/quit all IE 11 browser windows and re-open the browser.
