The Review page has tools to calculate distances, areas, angles, and radii but before using them EPR requires the user to calibrate the page by setting at least one measurement scale.
Calibrate
The Calibrate Tool lets users set one or more scales using known distances on the current page. The set scale is then used for any calculations made using EPR’s measurement tools.
Setting a Scale
To set a scale:
Click on the Calibrate Tool ( ) button in the toolbar.
Move your mouse cursor to the endpoint where you want to begin measuring from and click once.
Move your cursor to the other endpoint of the known distance and again click once.
In the “Calibration Scale” pop-up that appears:
Select a scale from the “Save As” drop-down list.
If you want your calibration to apply to the entire document, select “Document-wide Scale.”
If you want your calibration to only apply to the current page, select “Scale #1” or the next available scale on the list (up to five different individual calibration scales can be set).
Select a unit of measurement from the “Units” drop-down.
Input the values for the distance you measured.
Click SET to save your calibration (or CANCEL to start over).
While only one “document-wide scale” may be set per document, up to five different individual scales (#1 - #5) can be set for use with the measurement tools.
Using Calibrations
If a single calibration scale is set, EPR will automatically use that scale as the default for all measurement tools. However, if more than one scale has been set, a pop-up will prompt the user to select one of the calibrated scales from a drop-down before using the selected measurement tool.
Once a calibration scale has been set, a measurement label can also be toggled on to display for any existing sketch. To display the measurement:
Click on the Move, Pan, and Select Tool ( ) in the toolbar.
Click (or double-click) on the sketch until you see it framed with a red dashed outline.
In the Markup Detail window, toggle the Measurement Label to display.
Click SAVE MARKUPS at the top of the review page to confirm.
Editing Calibrations
Stored calibration scales can be updated at any time by measuring another known distance (or remeasuring a known distance) and selecting the scale to be updated within the “Calibration Scale” pop-up.
When you click SET to confirm the update, a warning message will pop-up, asking you to confirm the overwrite. Click CONFIRM to save the change (this will update the calculations for any measurements currently using this scale) or CANCEL to stop from overwriting the scale.
Calibrations can be overwritten, but cannot be deleted.
Calculate Distance
Once you have set a calibration for a sheet, you can calculate the overall distance between two or more points using the Distance Tool.
Linear Distances
To measure a linear distance:
Click on the Distance Tool ( ) button in the toolbar.
Move your mouse cursor to the endpoint where you want to begin measuring from and click once.
Move your cursor to the other endpoint and double-click. The distance measured (based on your selected calibration) will be displayed.
Click SAVE MARKUPS at the top of the review page to confirm.
Non-Linear Distances
To measure a distance that is not a straight line (such as a perimeter):
Click on the Distance Tool ( ) button in the toolbar.
Move your mouse cursor to the endpoint where you want to begin measuring from and click once.
Move your cursor to the next endpoint and just click once. Continue moving your cursor in any direction, as needed.
Repeat step 3 as many times as needed.
When you reach the final endpoint, double-click. The distance measured (based on your selected calibration) will be displayed.
Click SAVE MARKUPS at the top of the review page to confirm.
If you’ve made a mistake, you can click the esc key on your keyboard at any time before double-clicking to cancel your current measurement and redo it.
Editing Distance
You can edit the position of your endpoints or even switch scales without redrawing your distance sketch.
Click on the Move, Pan, and Select Tool ( ) in the toolbar.
Click (or double-click) on the measurement you want to update until you see it framed with a red dashed outline.
If necessary, move any existing endpoints (which should display as red checkboxes) to a new location by dragging them as desired with your mouse cursor. The distance calculation will update automatically.
Alternatively, you can also switch the scale used (if the page has multiple scales set) by going to the Markup Detail window and selecting another scale from the dropdown. The calculation will update automatically.
Click SAVE MARKUPS at the top of the review page to confirm.

Click APPLY.
Move your cursor to the endpoint where you want to begin measuring from and click once.
Move your cursor to the next endpoint and just click once. Continue moving your cursor in any direction, as needed.
Repeat step 4 as many times as needed.
When you reach the final endpoint, double-click. The distance measured (based on your selected calibration) will be displayed.
Click SAVE MARKUPS at the top of the review page to confirm.
Calculating area ‘With a Guideline' allows you to see guidelines at right angles more easily, but the 'Without Guidelines' option allows users to better match objects with edges that are not right angles.
Editing Area
